Weird/Offbeat Photo Ops: Dino Statues in Dinoland, USA

Dino photo op on the Cretaceous Trail

Considering the name, it’s not shocking that a lot of dino statues in Animal Kingdom’s Dinoland USA are just waiting to pose with you in your vacation snapshots. What is surprising is the wide range of statue styles. Do you prefer your dinos realistic and angry-looking? There’s a dino for you. Do you prefer the smiling, Route 66 type of dinos? There’s a dino for you too!

Our favorite dino to take pictures with is just inside the Cretaceous Trail. If you follow the path, you will find this dinosaur (pictured above) on the left as you enter, just waiting for his chance to get into pictures with you. He has lots of places to lean, stand, or sit and he doesn’t mind being climbed on a little. Since the Cretaceous Trail itself isn’t heavily traveled most days (it could really use some informational signs talking about the plants growing there and their links to prehistoric plant life) his little abode is usually a little quieter and tucked away from the main park traffic, as well.

About Kathy

I'm a lifetime Disney Parks fan who recently (and coincidentally) found herself relocated to Central Florida. These are our adventures visiting the many attractions and exhibits that are all too easy to overlook in favor of the headliner and super-headliner attractions.
